This upper-floor villa perched above the Plaine de Bormes has one rather rare quality: it delivers on every promise from the very first hour.

What's waiting behind the door

Spanning the entire first floor, the apartment opens onto a light-filled living room with two sofas that take procrastination very seriously. The more obliging of the two unfolds without complaint to sleep two extra guests, bringing the total to six with effortless ease.
The fully equipped kitchen extends its reach onto a balcony facing the plain and the Maures hills. Morning coffee, evening drinks, a late dinner once the night air finally cools things down: this balcony adapts to every mood and every hour.
The two bedrooms were designed for people who actually deserve to sleep properly on holiday: double beds, generous storage, and that particular silence only well-built houses know how to keep. The bathroom with its bathtub demands a serious time investment. We strongly recommend making one. The separate WC, for its part, has quietly resolved a problem nobody likes to discuss out loud.

Mimosae occupies the first floor of a secure villa in the heart of the Plaine de Bormes. The owners have settled into the ground floor with impeccable discretion: same address, completely separate lives. Downstairs, a shaded outdoor space with a large table and plancha is there for shared dinners, the unplanned kind that always last the longest. The pool, well-positioned and carefully maintained, is open from June to September, 9am to 6pm. Nine hours of aquatic bliss a day, if you are counting. A private parking space is included: keys dropped off on arrival, forgotten about until departure.

Outside, Provence puts on a show

The Plaine de Bormes-les-Mimosas plays several cards at once and plays them well. On the sea side, the beaches of Le Lavandou are just minutes away, with that turquoise water that looks like nothing else in the Mediterranean. Inland, the trails of the Massif des Maures wind through cork oaks and the warm scent of pine resin. In between: village markets, excellent restaurants, water sports for those who find stillness overrated. Bormes-les-Mimosas has built its entire reputation on exactly this balance. Good call.
